Quality Frameworks

NCAD works closely with partners, stakeholders, practitioners, and experts from various sectors to develop comprehensive quality frameworks that set the standard for Apprenticeship Degrees.

The NCAD Apprenticeship Degree Design Standards

These design standards address the persistent, sticky problems of higher education: lack of access, lack of equitable representation, inadequate preparation for the workplace, excessive student debt, and poor return-on-investment. While these problems repeatedly show up in research, they have not until now been systematically tackled.

The prime directive across all five design standards is simple: serve the learner well. Within the NCAD network, all partners share a commitment to these standards as an unwavering pledge that we collectively uphold.

These standards ensure that the Apprenticeship Degree delivers on its promise of job-embedded learning while upholding the rigorous standards expected of a college degree. They provide a clear roadmap for institutions developing Apprenticeship Degree models, ensuring accountability and transparency in all aspects of the apprenticeship experience.
